I've had guitar super system for a while now and I have been stuck in a rut. After learning basic music theory and some of Music theory level one, I am stuck. I feel like I'm not getting anywhere and don't know what to do. These lessons just feel like a whole lot of him saying some complex scale and showing how to do it but then not showing any guidance of where to go from there. I just want to learn how to use them in a musical context and not just practicing in front of a metronome. Thanks, Any tips help :).
Honestly something that helped me get past the basic music theory stuff was learning the caged system on my own and using the content here to connect it to the caged system and building off of that. That's not fool proof but if you did learn all the triad inversions and arpeggios in the music theory content here you'll see a lot of shapes repeat in the scales and cord shapes of the caged system and for me I feel like it helped make a lot of connections, and it gives you something concrete to practice improvising. Then all the more detail oriented content seems to come easier, but that's just my personal experience.
